ART-C Digital Archive
We are a community of women of color scholars working in collaboration to curate a digital archive of readings, visual texts, poetry and art that supports the development of an anti-racist vocabulary and praxis among all people. We believe in (re)defining a shared vocabulary that amplifies the voices and stories of oppressed people . We view this work as transnational as these definitions move across borders and through generations. We hope to weave together a lexicon of transnational liberation movements from capitalist, imperialist, colonial oppression. To be anti-racist is to be in support of the liberation of all people, and we believe that creating a shared vocabulary that draws upon scholarship, art, and activism from disparate geographies, generations, and movements is the first step towards critical education, dialogue, action, and finally, liberation.
This site illustrates our commitment to cultivate critically compassionate learning communities that are anti-racist and anti-oppressive. Our intention with ART-C is to invite communities into reflection, connection, and engagement that goes beyond the accumulation of knowledge and into learning-by-doing. We hope that engaging with this digital archive supports an investment in learning that will go beyond the limits of this site. We share this evolving resource with our own commitment to listen and learn continuously.
